The interactive Palworld breeding explorer
Pick any pal and see everything it can breed. Pick a target and get the shortest route, including which partners to catch. Track passives and know how many eggs it will really take — powered by datamined game data, validated against all 44,851 breeding-table entries.
Breeding Explorer
Fill any of three slots — parents, target, or both — and wander the breeding graph. Radial fan-outs, shortest chains with catchable partners, and passive pass-down odds with expected egg counts.

Every passive skill with game-accurate rank tiers and provenance: random rolls, pal-exclusive passives worth breeding onward, World Tree passives, and mutation-only rainbows.
How Palworld breeding actually works
The power-average rule
Every species has a hidden breeding power. A child is the breedable species whose power sits
closest to floor((powerA + powerB + 1) / 2) — ties break toward the higher-priority species. Because a child's power always lands between
its parents', you can never breed "down" to rare, low-power pals from commons alone.
Special combos & legendaries
About 131 fixed pairings override the math entirely — that's how subspecies like Relaxaurus Lux or Frostallion Noct are made. Legendaries only ever come from breeding two of themselves. Same-species pairs always breed true.
Passive inheritance
A child inherits 1–4 passives from the parents' combined pool (40/30/20/10%), plus 0–3 random extras. With clean parents, passing down 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 chosen passives succeeds at roughly 100% / 60% / 30% / 10% per egg — the Explorer computes exact odds and expected egg counts for any setup.
Mutated Eggs (1.0)
Around 1% of eggs (≈3% with an Extravagant Vegetable Cake) hatch mutated: same species, boosted stats, and an exclusive rainbow passive that nothing else in the game can roll.

Palworld breeding FAQ
How does breeding work in Palworld?
Every pal has a hidden breeding power. The child of two parents is the breedable species whose power is closest to the parents’ average — floor((powerA + powerB + 1) / 2) — with ties going to the higher-priority species. Around 131 special combos override the math (for example Relaxaurus + Sparkit always hatches Relaxaurus Lux), and same-species pairs always breed true.
What are special breeding combos?
Fixed parent pairings that ignore the usual power-averaging and always produce a specific child — usually subspecies like Frostallion Noct (Frostallion + Helzephyr) or Relaxaurus Lux (Relaxaurus + Sparkit). Palforge derives all of them from the game’s full breeding table, including the gender-dependent Katress × Wixen pair.
How do passive skills get inherited when breeding?
A child always inherits 1–4 passives drawn randomly from the parents’ combined pool, at 40% / 30% / 20% / 10% for 1, 2, 3, or 4. Then 0–3 extra random passives are added (40% / 30% / 20% / 10%), capped at 4 total. That makes clean parents matter: junk passives dilute the pool.
What are the odds of passing specific passives to offspring?
If the parents together carry only the passives you want: 1 passive passes 100% of the time, 2 passives ≈60%, 3 passives ≈30%, and all 4 ≈10% per egg. Palforge’s Explorer computes these odds for any setup, including junk-diluted pools, and estimates how many eggs you’ll need.
Can legendary pals like Jetragon be bred?
Legendaries such as Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius and Necromus never result from power-averaging — breeding two of the same legendary is the only pairing that produces them. Some legendary subspecies do have combos, like Frostallion + Helzephyr → Frostallion Noct.
What is a Mutated Egg in Palworld 1.0?
Roughly 1% of eggs (about 3% with an Extravagant Vegetable Cake) hatch as a Mutated Egg: the same species the pairing would normally produce, but with boosted stats and one of the exclusive rainbow passive skills that regular breeding and wild spawns can never roll.
